After a year of near misses, it was great to end the decade by booking a commercial which filmed up in Canada for four days before the holidays. There was snow to get me into the Christmas spirit and the added bonus was that the director was Oscar nominated Todd Field. The crew were lovely and it was a pleasure to work with everyone involved on this job.
My book, Surviving Hollywood, went to the editors and I’m now looking at cover designs. I’m hoping to publish the book mid February so I spent December checking out Amazon, IngramSpark and Kindle to figure out the best places for distribution.
After my trip to Canada, I flew back to the UK to see my friends and family for the holidays and recharge for the new decade. It was wonderful to see everyone and build up my alcohol tolerance. It’s amazing how quickly you can do that! While I was there I visited the RHS Garden Wisley Glow event with giant botanical-inspired light installations. It was truly magical.
My film recommendation for the month is, The Two Popes, which is a simple story about two extraordinary lives. Catch it on Netflix or at the cinema. I’ve always thought Jonathan Pryce to be a beautiful actor and he doesn’t disappoint in this film. Alongside Anthony Hopkins, they are a joy to watch.
