You can’t deny that you have an essence/brand/type when you go for a casting dressed as an opioid addict and they still cast you as the psychologist. Yes, that’s me: therapist, doctor, lawyer, CEO, President of the United States! There’s no getting away from it.
So, at the beginning of August, I was booked as the psychologist for a commercial print shoot and then booked to play the Chief Operating Officer on an industrial. Then I headed back to the UK to help prepare for, and celebrate, my Dad’s 90th birthday. We had a party for all his friends for which I made the cake: a white sponge with blackberry buttercream filling, iced with Chantilly cream.
And then my four sisters and I took my Dad to Barcelona to see Gaudi’s, La Sagrada Familia. What a building; the more you look at it, the more you realise that you haven’t been looking properly at all. Love it or hate it, it is definitely intriguing and still being built – the building of the structure having started back in 1882! It looks like they are aiming to finish the build in 2026 which will mark the 100th anniversary of Gaudi’s death.
In the middle of August, I was offered a role in another feature film but it shot while I was in the UK – always the way – and the promotional video for the feature film, Me, Carol & Elvis was finished which I hope leads to generating enough investment for the full film to be made. Also, the film, Clocking the T, which I shot last year, has been officially selected for the Orlando Film Festival, October 18-25, 2018.
